Coming off the back of June’s unforgettable result at Misano – where teenage star Benat Fernandez secured his second win of the year in a photo finish decided by just 0.009 seconds – the team carried fantastic momentum into July and head into the summer break with a slender one-point lead in the overall standings.
Benat’s performance in Italy was a masterclass in patience, racecraft, and courage under pressure. Qualifying third and finishing fourth in Saturday’s opening race, he backed it up on Sunday with a stunning comeback from eleventh on the grid. After a red-flagged restart and just eight laps to make an impact, Benat timed his last-lap strategy to perfection, sealing the victory at the line and sending the paddock into celebration.
That result set the tone for July, with Team 109 showing consistency, determination, and the kind of fighting spirit that defines championship campaigns. Every race weekend is a reminder that while Benat may be the one on track, the entire Retro Traffic Team 109 Kove crew is working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep them competitive at the very highest level.
