Charles Fort
History & culture
Charles fort is a classic example of a late 17th centruary star-shaped fort. Designed by William Robinson, architecht of the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham, Dublin, and Superintendent of Fortifications.
James Fort

Located opposite Charles Fort, it has a commanding position guarding the small habour if Kinsale. This fort was built in 1607 and was captured in 1690 by Williamite forces.

Desmond Castle International Museum

Built as the Customs House by Maurice Fitzgerald, 9th Earl of Desmond, following the grant of the customs of the port of Kinsale to the Earls of Desmond by King Henry VII in 1497.
St Multose Church

Built in 1190, and the oldest buildng in Kinsale, St Multose Church is a fine example of Norman architecture and is still in use today.
